Suspense aired on CBS radio network from 1942 to 1962 and is considered by many to be the best mystery drama series of the Golden Age of Radio. The radio program focused on suspenseful thrillers starring the biggest names in Hollywood and theater such as Agnes Moorehead, Orson Welles, Vincent Price, Lucille Ball, Peter Lorre, Barbara Stanwyck, Cary Grant, and Gregory Peck. Scripts were written and adapted for Suspense by Lucille Fletcher, John Dickson Carr, Ray Bradbury, Cornell Woolrich, as well as many others. The original Suspense theme was written by Bernard Herrmman, music director and composer for the CBS radio orchestra.

CABIN -13
First presented on Suspense in 1943, Cabin B-13, written by John Dickson Carr, is the story of a newlywed couple, Ricky and Ann Brewster, who went on board on the ship S.S. Maurevania for their honeymoon. Ricky Brewster suddenly disappeared, and no one could tell what happened to him. When his wife went to look for him, she found out that there were no records of them being on-board, and that cabin B-13 does not actually exist!

THE HITCHHIKER
First presented on Suspense in 1942, The Hitchhiker, written by Lucille Fletcher is the story of Ronald Adams, a 36-year-old man driving from New York to Los Angeles. First on the Brooklyn Bridge, then on the Pulaski Skyway, and as he heads further and further west, Ronald Adams sees the exact same hitchhiker over and over again. He grows increasingly disturbed and unhinged, unable to stop the car for fear of meeting the mysterious man.

THE DIARY OF SAPHRONIA WINTERS
First presented on Suspense in 1943, The Diary of Saphronia Winters written by Lucille Fletcher, is a great horror story about a new bride, a madman, and a hotel with 125 deserted rooms! Saphronia Winters is enjoying a holiday in Florida when she meets the man of her dreams. Hiram Johnson is strong, generous, poetic, deep, thoughtful, handsome - in short too good to be true. Saphronia is well and truly smitten with him. For the remainder of her holiday he treats her like a Queen. In the end marriage is inevitable, but what exactly is Saphronia letting herself in for. Is her bridegroom as perfect as he seems or is he hiding a sinister secret?

THE FURNISHED FLOOR
The Furnished Floor, written by Lucille Fletcher, was first presented on Suspense in 1945. When a man returns to the apartment he lived in before he lost his first wife and begins to piece it back together identical to the way it looked when she died, the landlady, Mrs. Hawkins grows suspicious. Why has she never seen the new Mrs. Jennings? What exactly is going on in that upstairs apartment?

THE SCREAMING WOMAN
The Screaming Woman, written by Ray Bradbury was first presented on Suspense in 1948. Just before Thanksgiving dinner young Maggie gets sent on an errand to her aunt's house. To get there she takes a short cut through Mr Kelly's Lot, which is a place where she and her friends often play. Today, things look a little different. She goes to investigate and hears a screaming woman - seemingly buried alive. Desperately Maggie hurries home to tell her parents but they do not believe her. They put it down to her over zealous imagination and say she's been reading too many comics. Maggie doesn't know what to do but knows that she is the only one who can do something to help the screaming woman.

THE YELLOW WALLPAPER
First presented on Suspense in 1948, the Yellow Wallpaper, adapted from the short story by Charlotte Perkins Gillman is the story of a young wife and new mother who’s brought to a secluded estate for three months of complete and total rest. But as the stifling stillness goes on she discovers there may be far more going on behind the images on the yellow wallpaper in her room.

THE WHOLE TOWN'S SLEEPING
The Whole Town’s Sleeping, adapted from the short story The Ravine by Ray Bradbury, was first presented on Suspense in 1955. "The Lonely One" is roaming the night, strangling women out after dark. Two women find a friend’s body in the ravine, but are determined to take their minds off it by going to the movies. When one walks home alone, she fears the killer may be following her. Will she make it through the ravine safely?

First presented on Suspense in 1943, Sorry Wrong Number, written by Lucille Fletcher is a dramatic and tense story of a bedridden woman, Mrs Stevenson whose only access to the outside world is her telephone. One day, while listening to what seems to be a crossed phone connection, she overhears two men planning a murder. With the police unhelpful, can she piece together their plans and stop the impending murder of an innocent victim?

Alyson Won
Aly is so excited to be Stage Manager for Suspense Radio Theater this year in Bay Theater. Across all eight shows since her ninth-grade year, she has also been on makeup crew, publicity, stage management, assistant stage management, and performed. Aly loves the collaborative environment in Bay Theater and is grateful for the friends she made along the way.
Ava van Amerongen
This is Ava’s first year doing sound effects for Bay Theater. She has never done tech before but is excited for the opportunity. Ava is looking forward to partaking in the behind the scenes work of theater at Bay.
Billie Miro Breskin
This will be Billie’s seventh production with Bay Theater. Favorite roles at Bay include: Evil Tina in She Kills Monsters, Inez in No Exit, Player/Dance Captain in Pippin, Matheson in The Old Man and the Old Moon. Previous to Bay, favorite roles include Alice in Alice in Wonderland and Meg in Little Women (both San Francisco Friends School). Thanks to her family and friends.
Chiara Sorani
Chiara Sorani is excited to be working with publicity for Suspense Radio Theater. This is her first Bay theater production! She has loved learning about the behind the scenes of the production and has enjoyed collaborating with the rest of the publicity and tech team.

Claire Chow
Claire Chow is excited to be in Bay Theater again this fall. She has been in the Bay School production of Pippin and her favorite thing about Bay Theater is the big theater family. Claire enjoys drawing, singing, and hiking. Thank you to Mom, Dad, Ryan, and her friends and family for the love and support!
Coco Holcomb
Coco Holcomb is thrilled to be working with a crew on publicity for Suspense Radio Theater this fall with Bay Theater. Her first production at Bay was last spring in The Old Man and the Old Moon and she’s excited to be working on publicity again! Since the last show ended early, she’s excited to learn more about publicity and social media design as well as work with the wonderful cast and crew.
Dylan Gibson
This will be Dylan’s second production at Bay after debuting in the ensemble of Pippin last fall. This year, they are playing The Man in Black in Cabin B-13. They enjoy watching horror movies, drawing, singing, acting, and writing. Thank you to Mom, Dad, and Cole for the support.
Gabi Bernstein
Gabi is super excited to be doing sound for Bay's Suspense Radio Theater this year. She has been assistant stage manager and on the set crew for previous Bay theater productions. Some of her interests include reading, embroidery, and baking bread. Gabi's favorite part of Bay theater is making new friends during build days and tech weeks. Thanks to her friends and family!
Greta Colloton
Greta Colloton is a sophomore and is excited to be a part of Bay theater this year. Greta started acting in elementary school and her favorite productions have been Annie (Tessie), Robin Hood (Robin Hood) and Guys and Dolls (Hot Box Dancer). Greta enjoys rock climbing, baking and time with her friends.

Ingvar Rasmussen
This is Ingvar’s eighth production at Bay. They have been acting in theatre since middle school. Other favorite roles include Harold Hill in The Music Man (The Laurel School), and Perry in The Old Man and the Old Moon. Their favorite thing about Bay theatre is the friendships they made throughout the years. Thank you to Joanne Green for your guidance in middle school.
Julia Pearl-Styles
This will be Julia’s eighth production with Bay Theater (Farah, She Kills Monsters, Berthe, Pippin, Old Man, The Old Man and the Old Moon). Other favorite roles include: Petruchio in Taming of the Shrew and Rosaline in Love Labors Lost with the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. When she is not acting she loves teaching martial arts, writing music, and making a fool of herself in everyday situations. Thank you to Rainier Pearl-Styles and other family and friends!
Kate Fair
Kate Fair has now done seven shows at Bay: six as a set technician and run crew, four as a set master/designer, and two as a semi-actor. While she has never actually performed on a stage, Kate enjoys ‘performing’ backstage with other actors and tech members, putting out the ghostlight, and sweeping up before/after shows. She also enjoys oreos, especially on build days. Kate would like to thank everyone for being chill about her spookily ‘haunting’ rehearsals when not called, and she is glad to be part of a loving, creative, and sometimes dorky community.
Kate Shiau
This will be Kates’s third production with Bay theater. She is doing sound and publicity for Suspense Radio Theater and has been Stage Manager in previous shows at Bay. Her favorite thing about being on tech is making friends.
Libby Margaretten
Libby Margaretten has been with Bay theater for two years, and was excited to work as an actor for Suspense Radio Theater. She previously worked as an assistant stage manager in her freshman year at Bay for Pippin, and sound tech for Aladdin at her middle school.

Lyla Maymon
Lyla Maymon is making her Bay Theater debut in Suspense Radio Theater. Lyla sings in the Young Women's Chorus of San Francisco and enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Her favorite thing about Bay Theater is the welcoming energy of the other students. Thanks to Mom for her encouragement!
Mint Willson
Mint Willson is so excited to be in their first ever Bay School production! They have done many shows before but this is their first online one. One of their favorite roles to play was Kim MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie. Maggie had a lot of fun recording these and hopes that everyone has just as much fun listening to them.
Magnolia Driscoll
Magnolia Driscoll is excited to be a part of Bay theater. She is a freshman and started practicing theater in sixth grade. She enjoyed drawing for this publicity team and looks forward to doing so in the future. Her favorite past roll is LIlith (She Kills Monsters). Many thanks to her vocal coach and to her family and friends!
Matteo Aron
This is Matteo Aron’s first Bay Production and he is making his debut in Diary Of Sophronia Winters and Sorry Wrong Number. Matteo has been acting for 6 years and has done various plays. Some of his favorites have been Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and Snow White in The Wild, Wild West (both done in NCTC). Matteo loves doing theatre because of the people that he meets there.
Maya Spillane
Maya Spillane is making her Bay Theater Debut in Suspense Radio Theater. Other favorite roles include: Ophelia in Hamlet (Brearley Middle school), Antonio in The Gondoliers (Brearley Theater) and Lizzy Macentire in a Brearley Theater production. Maya loves old movies and Broadway and enjoyed being a part of Bay Theater very much. Thank you to Mom for your support.
Morgan Fletcher
Morgan Fletcher is delighted to be working with a crew on publicity for Suspense Radio Theater this fall with Bay Theater. She has been on the tech crew for all four years at Bay, working in set design, props, and now publicity.
Noelle Kawaja
Noelle Kawaja is making her Bay Theater debut in Suspense Theater. Favorite roles are Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Helen of Troy in The Golden iPhone. Likes reading and riding horses. Favorite thing about Bay Theater and theater in general is the stories. Thanks to Mom for support.
Nuri Tam
Nuri Tam is making her first appearance for Bay Theater in Suspense Radio Theater. She starred as Dippy in Screaming Woman and the Captain in Cabin B-13, and loved that Bay Theater allowed her to meet new people throughout the school and to be a part of a whole new community.
Rebecca Silva
This is Becca Silva’s third production at Bay, as she’s participated in Pippin, and The Old Man and the Old Moon. She hopes to continue participating in other productions and grow in experience! Some of her favorite roles include Elilzabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice Titania from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. One thing that Becca loves about Bay Theater is the level of acceptance—regardless of age, grade, or experience!

Reed Grenager
Reed is a freshman at Bay, and this is his first time participating in Bay Theater. Other theater performances that Reed has participated in, include Pinnochio, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, The Drowsy Chaperone, High School Musical, and more. Besides theater, Reed plays the guitar and piano, and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Ronen Malka
This will be Ronen Malka's Bay Theater debut in Suspense Radio Theater. Other roles in past shows include, Chewbacca in Shakespeare: Star Wars, Oz in The Wizard of Oz, as well as The Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood, (Live Oak School Theater). Ronen enjoys playing video games and hanging out with friends. Thanks to everyone who has supported him in this actor's journey.
Ruby Orr
Ruby Orr is so excited for her first production with Bay Theater! Ruby has been in theatre her whole life and some of her favorite roles include Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins and Anna in Frozen. She has been taking voice lessons for 2 years and has attended acting classes and musical theatre programs at ACT and SFCM. She has also recently taken up writing musicals! Lots of thanks to all my theatre directors, teachers, and cast mates, and to my family and friends!
Sofia Andronaco
Suspense Radio Theater is Sofia’s first production with Bay. She has had so much fun learning about radio dramas, which she had no knowledge of prior to this experience. Thanks to Jessie for all of her support.
Sylvia Rosenfeld
This is Sylvia’s first production at Bay. Her favorite plays that she has been in, have been, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Macbeth. Theater has always really interested her, from a young age and she is very excited to be part of this radio play. Sylvia loves the ocean, marine biology and spending time with her friends. She has really enjoyed her transition to bay as a freshman and all of her new classes. Thank you to Mom, Dad, Maxine, and her friends.
Tara Peddi
Tara Peddi is making her Bay Theater debut in Suspense Radio Theater. Favorite roles include the young woman in The Hitchhiker! and the announcer in The Furnished Floor. Tara has a passion for dance and figure skating. Her favorite thing about Bay Theater was learning techniques on how to control your voice. Big thanks to Mum, Dad, and Ketan. To my cast member and teacher thanks for the support and making it a super fun experience.
Trevor Horton
Trevor Horton is making his Bay debut in Suspense Radio Theater. His favorite previous roles include Shere Khan in The Jungle Book, and the Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors. He enjoys making art and playing the piano. Thank you to Mom and Dad.
Vivian Cross
Vivian Cross is a freshman at Bay School and is making her debut in Suspense Radio Theater. Her favorite show is The Screaming Woman, which she thinks is a fun story to listen to. Vivian likes watching anime and drawing, playing Minecraft and learning songs on the ukulele. Her favorite thing about Bay so far is meeting her classmates. Thanks to Mom and Dad for support and help.
